Dale has been working on a project connected to a Welshman John Hugh Roberts who wrote and kept dairies since the the turn of the century. He has spent decades researching this fascinating writings so this part of the trip was connected to these writings. One book is called the Stone Book of Knowledge and Dale blog is Druidical Quest. He has travelled to Wales 10 times and even Peru and Mexico in connection to the Druidical paper.

We did travel by car at first from Birmingham to via Aberwysthweth to Pwillheli and thinking in Canada terms of 150 miles taking at the most three hours we were in a different time zone it seemed as it took 10 hours. But is was a beautiful sunny day and so the landscape was breathtaking. Sooo green when we got to the moors .. and the hills went on and on. When there were trees they were like Fairy Forests. It was totally delightful and though I held my breath when another car passed on the narrow road I could not deny the beauty of the land. And we driving on our wrong side of the road. You can sure understand the Welsh people desire to take care of and protect the land.

We were intent on having a life ceremony for our friend Elwyn Roberts. We found the perfect sacred spot with Bardsey Island behind us to have the spirits participate. Bardsly is called the Island of the Bards and many important people are legended to be resting there like Merlin and even stories of King Arthur.

Storms came and the adventure of the trip was Dale and Lea climbing Carn Fadryn .. crazy day with 70 mile an hour winds but the intent was so strong they climbed with fervor. The strangest thing is I saw the message from Dale that they were going to do it on F.B. and called him and even though they were 1/2 up the call went modern day miracle. Even saw video and this is the photo of Dale is what I saw. Later Lea when 2/3 the way up undid this parka to get his two canes out to come down and it would not close again. He was like a parachute.

We had a few adventures on the last day there which was sunny … we went to the town Criccieth which we have enjoyed going to many times. Thought of Peace as I also had done at Stonhenge. In the Welsh writing Roberts has a map of Teman which we call Celtic Atlantis and it is in the area right out front of the beach. It goes all the way over to Bardsey. We had talked to the people in the village and there are stories of a land that sunk.

The last landscape we saw was just a spontaneous ride to Black Rock .. we didnt know of it .. Just happened at this time of year there was hardly anyone there and just saw a very large beach that we could drive along.

A great way to end our times in Wales.

Nature is truly beautiful and constantly the sacred landscapes amazing us.

Bonvoyage
